Customer-bank Swiss Payment Standards (pain/camt) plus the SIX SIC RTGS, euroSIC and SIC Instant Payment (SIC IP on SIC5) rails. Fully ISO 20022; CHF settles in SIC, EUR in euroSIC, sub-10s CHF in SIC IP in central bank money.

Security profile

Client authentication: Bank channel credentials or EBICS; SIC participants use SIX SSFN (Secure Swiss Finance Network) or SWIFT.
Message signing: Channel-specific; interbank traffic authenticated on the SIX network / SSFN gateway.
Tokens: Not an XS2A API — customer-bank exchange is file/API per bank; clearing is ISO 20022 XML.
Certificates: Participant certificates via SIX; QR-bill validation is local.

What bites integrators

QR-bill is the only retail credit-transfer remittance form in Switzerland; DTA is decommissioned.
SIC requires 100% pre-funding (no overdraft). Uncovered transactions enter the SIC wait file queue.
SIC IP (SIC5) targets <10 seconds 24/7/365 in SNB central bank money — treat timeouts like SCT Inst with pacs.028.
ClrSys/Cd=SIC and Swiss IG guidelines are binding for SIC participants; SEPA IGs do not apply to CHF SIC traffic.
CHF amounts use Ccy="CHF"; do not reuse EUR SEPA service-level codes (e.g. SEPA/SEPA Inst) on SIC CHF payments.
Phase-in mandates: August 2024 for major Swiss banks (>95% market volume); all remaining banks by end of 2026; SNB PSSF weekend liquidity by end of 2027.
